Legendary hip hop artist Common took us back to the South Side of Chicago when he absolutely rocked the stage at the RIAA’s “Musicians on Call” Presidential Charity Benefit DNC after-party. After So So Def executive Jermaine Dupri had the audience getting down on the 1s and 2s, Common finished the night out with a 90-minute set. We reminisced on the days of old-school hip hop as he performed “I Used to Love H.E.R.” and “Luchini.”

After a long day of panels and townhall meetings, B&P politicians, media types and celebs such as Suzanne Malveaux, Lynn Whitfield, Rep. Andre Carson and Kendrick Meek kicked it in VIP, which was, of course, complete with an open bar. Toward the end of Common’s set, the RIAA presented him with a plaque celebrating his artistry and his three gold albums.
